  6. 440ml can Guinness or different stout beer
  7. 4 tablespoons (1/3 cup) brown sugar
  8. 2 bay leaves
  9. 800g canned borlotti beans, rinsed, drained
  10. Chopped parsley, to serve
  11. Potatoes, to serve

  2. Heat the oil in a massive flameproof casserole over medium-high warmth. Cook sausages for five-6 minutes until browned all over. Set aside.
